A seaside town in the south-east built around a long, narrow bay, still recognisably a village at its core and popular with Maltese families rather than expats. Marsascala is quieter, cheaper and further out than the harbour towns.
Tips for viewing here
Marsascala is a proper town with its own life, busiest on summer weekends when people come down for the day and calm the rest of the time. It is a long way from the business areas — the drive north is significant at peak hours — so it works best for people who work in the south, work from home, or accept the commute. There has been a lot of building in recent years and some streets are more construction site than street. Everyday shopping is fine; nightlife is limited.
