The busiest of the northern resort towns, sitting between St Paul’s Bay and Qawra with the square at its centre. Bugibba is cheap, full of flats, and organised entirely around summer — which makes it either good value or a ghost town depending on the month you ask.
The lifestyle
Bugibba is a resort town first. In summer the square and the front are loud and full; in winter a large share of the businesses close and the streets are empty. Housing is dense and much of it was built for holidaymakers rather than residents, which shows in the finishes and the sound insulation. It is well suited to a short stay, a tight budget or seasonal work, and poorly suited to anyone wanting a settled, year-round neighbourhood.
Property in Bugibba
Apartments, overwhelmingly, a great deal of it holiday stock let long-term in the off-season. Quality varies enormously and cheap rent often means a basic flat rather than a bargain. Furnished is standard. Winter-only lets are very common here — establish the term before viewing, because a nine-month tenancy ending in June is easy to sign by accident.
