The town beside the airport, which is what most people know it for. Luqa is larger than the villages around it, well connected by road, and inexpensive.
The lifestyle
Luqa is defined by the airport in both directions: it makes the town very convenient for anyone working there, and it puts aircraft over parts of it. Which streets are affected varies with the runway in use, and this is the single thing to check before committing. The town itself is an ordinary Maltese one with a square, a church, shops and schools. Road connections are good — better than most southern villages — which makes the commute north more bearable than from the deeper south, though still a real journey at peak times. Prices reflect all of the above and are low.
Property in Luqa
A mix of townhouses, maisonettes and apartments, most of it plain rather than characterful, with newer blocks appearing. Outdoor space is common in the older stock. Prices and rents are among the lower on the island for the space offered. Both furnished and unfurnished lettings occur.
