The town around the university and the marina at the head of the creek. Msida is a transport hub more than a destination, which makes it convenient and busy in equal measure — and it is the obvious choice for anyone studying.
The lifestyle
Msida is dominated by its junction, which is one of the busiest on the island and unpleasant at peak hours. Away from it, the town is ordinary and liveable, with a mix of older houses and newer flats. The student presence gives parts of it a distinct rhythm — busy in term, noticeably quieter outside it — and buildings near campus turn over frequently. It is not a scenic town and does not pretend to be; what it offers is access and price.
Property in Msida
A mix of older housing and newer apartment blocks. A significant share of the rental stock is let by the room or configured for sharing, driven by student demand. Whole-flat family lettings exist but are less common than in the surrounding towns. Condition varies widely, and the difference between a refurbished flat and an original one is stark at similar rents.
