A quiet village on Gozo’s southern edge, above the Ta’ Cenc cliffs. Small, traditional and among the least developed parts of the island.
The lifestyle
Sannat is small and very quiet, and its appeal is the cliffs on its doorstep. Life happens in Victoria, which is close enough that the lack of amenities in the village matters less than it would elsewhere. The southern coast here is undeveloped and protected in parts, which is much of the attraction. Winters are still and dark. A car is necessary. For anyone who walks, or who wants a base that feels genuinely rural while being minutes from the island’s only town, it is one of the better choices on Gozo.
Property in Sannat
Farmhouses and old stone houses form the interesting part of the market, with townhouses in the core and a modest number of newer apartments. Outdoor space is usual and pools are common in the converted properties. The market is small; availability is limited and worth waiting for rather than settling on.
