A central Gozitan village under the great dome of its rotunda, which is visible from most of the island. Xewkija is workmanlike rather than picturesque, and it is one of the more practical places to live on Gozo.

The lifestyle

Xewkija is a working village rather than a showpiece, and prices reflect that. It sits between Victoria and the ferry, which makes it one of the most convenient bases on Gozo — the practical choice for anyone who has to make the crossing regularly or work on the island. The industrial estate on its edge brings traffic and some noise on that side. Amenities are decent and Victoria is minutes away for everything else. Winter is quiet, as it is across Gozo.

Property in Xewkija

Townhouses and maisonettes make up most of the stock, with apartments and some farmhouses in the surrounding fields. Less of the market here is aimed at holiday letting than in the coastal or scenic villages, so long lets are somewhat easier to find. Prices are among the more reasonable on Gozo. Both furnished and unfurnished occur.
