The village above Mgarr harbour, and the first part of Gozo most people see. Ghajnsielem is ordinary and residential rather than scenic, and its great practical advantage is being closest to the ferry.

The lifestyle

Ghajnsielem is a working village without much to draw a visitor, which keeps it quiet and reasonably priced. Its position matters more than its looks: if you cross to Malta with any regularity, living fifteen minutes closer to the ferry than Victoria changes the week. Traffic on the harbour road is heavier than elsewhere on the island around sailings. Everyday needs are met locally; anything more means Victoria.
