A small resort village in a steep-sided bay on Gozo’s south-west coast. Xlendi is beautiful, compact and thoroughly seasonal — busy and full in summer, close to deserted in winter.
The lifestyle
Xlendi lives on two settings. In summer the promenade is full, the restaurants are open and the bay is busy; in winter much of it closes and the village is very quiet indeed. That quiet is the appeal for some and unbearable for others, and it is the single thing to be honest with yourself about before signing a year here. It is a few minutes from Victoria for anything the village does not have, which is most things. Parking in the village is tight in season.
Property in Xlendi
Almost entirely apartments, much of it built for holiday letting and let long-term out of season. Sea views are common and inexpensive by Maltese standards. Quality ranges from basic holiday-standard to genuinely well finished. Winter-only lets are frequent — check the term carefully, because a tenancy ending in spring is easy to sign without noticing.
