The biggest of the Three Cities, also called Bormla, curving around the head of the creek behind Birgu and Senglea. Cospicua is the least polished of the three and the most affordable, with a working-town feel and a long waterfront.
The lifestyle
Cospicua is a working town that has seen less restoration than its neighbours, which is why it is cheaper and why parts of it look tired. There is real character in the older streets and genuine neglect in others, sometimes on the same street. It has a strong local community and little that is aimed at outsiders. For anyone who wants a large old house near the harbour and is prepared to take it as found, it is among the best value on the island.
Property in Cospicua
Townhouses and apartments, with a good stock of large older properties. A higher share is unmodernised than in Birgu or Senglea, which is reflected in rents. Waterfront and view properties exist and are the exception. Condition matters more here than anywhere else covered — two properties at the same rent can be very different propositions.
