A dense residential town between Paola and Zabbar, almost entirely built up and almost entirely housing. Fgura is unglamorous, central to the south, and among the more affordable places to rent a decent-sized flat.

The lifestyle

Fgura is dense and built up, with heavy traffic on the roads through it and limited parking. There is no old core to speak of and little that is picturesque — it grew as housing and remains housing. What it offers is affordable, reasonably sized flats close to the southern harbour towns. It is a local town with few foreign residents, and everyday life happens in Maltese as much as English.

Property in Fgura

Apartments and maisonettes almost exclusively, much of it built in the last few decades. Flats tend to be larger than their equivalent rents buy in the north. Condition varies and the newer blocks are noticeably better. Both furnished and unfurnished are common. Rents are among the lower ones for a central-south location.
