A village on one of Gozo’s highest ridges, north-west of Victoria, with long views over the north of the island and the sea beyond. Small, quiet and increasingly sought after.
The lifestyle
Zebbug sits high and catches the weather — wonderful in summer, genuinely windy in winter. It is small, and daily life means driving to Victoria for anything beyond the basics. The roads up are narrow. What people come for is the outlook and the quiet, and on both counts it delivers as well as anywhere in Gozo. Like much of the island it is seasonal: lively enough in summer, very still from November onwards. Anyone considering it should visit in winter as well as summer before committing.
Property in Zebbug Gozo
A smallish market weighted towards character property — farmhouses and old stone houses, often restored to a high standard and priced accordingly — with some newer apartments taking advantage of the views. Outdoor space and pools are common in the converted properties. Holiday letting competes strongly for the best of the stock, so long lets need patience.
