A large old town in the south-east, with one of the more impressive parish churches and a substantial historic core. Zejtun is residential, affordable and firmly local, with more character than most towns at its price.
The lifestyle
Zejtun is an old Maltese town that has not been prettified, which means genuine character alongside ordinary streets and some neglect. It is quiet, residential and inexpensive, with a strong local community and few foreign residents. The distance to the northern business areas is significant and the commute slow at peak times. For anyone drawn to an old house with a courtyard and unwilling to pay Attard prices, it is one of the better-value places on the island.
Property in Zejtun
A good stock of houses of character and townhouses in and around the core, alongside apartments and maisonettes in the newer parts. Prices are low, and large old properties are attainable in a way they are not further north. Condition varies enormously and many older houses need work. Unfurnished lets are the norm.
